A short walk away from Hill House is the historic Georgian market town of Blandford Forum. Situated on the River Stour, Blandford Forum's rich history includes the Great Fire of 1731, when most of the town was completely destroyed. Rebuilt over the next 30 years by the Bastard brothers - noted architects of the period - Blandford now remains one of the best preserved Georgian towns in England. The market place is much as it has been for over two hundred years.
In September, the town hosts the annual week-long Great Dorset Steam Fair, the largest gathering of steam tractors and stationary engines in Europe.
Blandford Forum is ideally situated for those looking to discover the delights of Dorset: Poole Harbour, the ‘Jurassic Coast’, the New Forest and the ancient cities of Bath and Salisbury, to name but a few.

We stayed at Hill House in July and when we needed a relaxing few days away in October, it was the first place we thought of. Everything was the same - exceptional standard, the accommodation and the food were superb. Jan and Geoff were incredibly helpful and kind, thinking of absolutely everything we could need. The best B&B we have ever visited.
